About Pivot

Pivot Movement & Performance is built on a simple premise:

Movement is not trained through repetition alone.
It is developed through structure, awareness, and time.

The Work

Training at Pivot is centered around precision.

We focus on how movement is built, not just how it looks.
Each session is structured, adaptive, and guided in real time.

The goal is not to do more.
The goal is to do what matters—correctly, consistently, and with intent.

The Approach

‍ ‍Listen.

Feel.

Execute.

The Standard

Strength is structure in motion.
The athlete is no longer doing reps—they are sustaining architecture.
Breath, rhythm, and control become one fluent language of movement.

Matthew Pasqua

Matthew is the founder of the Pivot: Movement & Performance Studio.

He brings over 20 years of experience in strength, movement, and performance training, supported by a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University.

His background includes:

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through National Strength and Conditioning Association

  • Pilates training through Re:AB Pilates

  • Cycling and endurance coaching through USA Cycling

His work is grounded in a simple principle:

Do no harm. Build with purpose.

Training is approached with precision, awareness, and respect for the individual.

Rather than chasing volume or intensity, the focus is on developing movement that is efficient, controlled, and sustainable over time.

Matthew’s background in martial arts—including a 1st Dan black belt in Taekwondo and ongoing practice in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—shapes a coaching style built on discipline, patience, and adaptability.

Clients are not pushed through workouts.
They are guided through a process.

The expectation is simple:

Commitment to the work.
Respect for the process.

Over time, this creates lasting physical and mental change—not short-term results.

This is not built for everyone.
It is built for those willing to commit to the process.
